10mth regression HELP!!

Hello!
My baby has always been a 'good sleeper' with 2 naps a day and between 11/12 hours at night. We had the odd wake obviously but in general, can't complain too much...

UNTIL NOW.

Oh myyyy, what is this?? We never experienced the 4 month regression. Is there a 10 month regression? Is that what this is?? It's as if suddenly he's forgotten how to sleep... he will not have his morning nap, sleeps for about 3 hours in the afternoon (I have to wake him or he would sleep longer) and then there's bedtime... he goes down around his usual time of 7pm. Occasionally he will fall asleep and then wake around 8/9pm. Sometimes he won't fall asleep at all. It is taking until 10/11pm for him to sleep! He isn't hungry, isn't upset, is just awake. Once sleeping he is fine and will sleep through, it's as if he can't fall asleep anymore. I have completely lost my evenings and as much as I love him, I would like a break at night.

Why is this happening? Is there anything I can do?? Is this normal??

Thanks in advance for any tips/ideas or even someone just telling me other babies do this! Xx

How does he end up falling asleep, when it eventually happens?

Does he keep standing up in the cot? This is a phase they go through when learning to pull to standing (which is around this age). If so, teach him to go from standing to lying down himself and instead of you lying him down, tap the mattress and ask him to lie down himself (over and over again)

Hi @FATEdestiny thanks for replying.

He just seems to eventually give in and fall asleep. He is a bit behind developmentally so nowhere near able to stand up. When I googled I kept finding that this regression is due to things like standing/crawling but he isn't at that stage at all yet. He just will not sleep xx
