Anyone got any positive success stories using the Dr Jay Gordon night weaning method? What exactly did you do? (LO is 18 months, co-sleeping boob monster).

Honestly, it didn't feel very gentle to me so I kind of made it up as I went along (but started about 18 mo)

DS had more or less stopped day feeds by himself by then as food was far more interesting.

We got 'loving comfort' and read it every day. For months. Counted down to end of feeds at bedtime and overnight (less and less sleepy). offered a cuddle first but if upset and not convinced, boob anyway. Kept cosleeping.

Then decided we were ready. Virtually no tears. Didn't even ask after 3rd night.

Bedtime feed dwindled and when I did say no, he was 30s of upset before asking about books

But it was guided by DS readiness
