Baby putting face into the side of bed side crib

Hello I have the Babylo Cozi Sleeper (I've attached a picture I think ) - it's similar to the next2me crib . It has mesh sides but the very bottom isn't mesh. My baby is 10 weeks and woke me up in the middle of the night grunting I noticed he had face planted the side of the crib he seemed to be panicking and trying to wriggle away but was in a sleeping bag which I think was making it more difficult for him to wriggle himself away. He sleeps with a device on his nappy that sends an alarm if he stops breathing so he hadn't stopped breathing - but I'm really worried now. And debating buying one with completely mesh sides the only one I can find is one by Purflo. Has anyone baby done this before and is it save ? It says the sides are breathable etc.
Thank you !

I had this with my little one and the Next To me. I contacted them and they said the lip would not smother him, but obviously I can’t say for your brand.

Is the cot flat? I only ask because 10 weeks is early to be rolling over, could it be tilting towards the bed? We had this issue and loosening the straps helped!

Hi I’m not sure about the crib but please be careful he doesn’t get to hot in a sleeping bag x

I'll get my husband to check that it's flat now. Now I think he was on his back and his face was squashed up against it. I wish I'd paid more attention but I was in such a panic I just scooped him up ! I've pressed my own face against it and it seems okay . I've emailed the company hopefully they come back .

THat sounds like the issue we had - he was sort of sliding towards the edge because it wasn’t flat, even though it totally looked it! In my panic to get it totally flush to the side of the bed I had actually pulled the straps too tight

Bloody nightmare really 😂

I used to quite often wake up with DS face squished in the mesh of his side cot - it always used to give me a shock because he looked like an alien. It was totally breathable though and he never seemed bothered by it.

Hi OP,
Just wondering if the company got back to you about how breathable the sides are as I am having the exact same problem with my 8 week old so am spending a lot of the night awake and watching her sleep which is not going to work long term!

My LO seems to be able move herself from middle of the crib to the side in about 2 minutes so not like I can even set an alarm to check her as it happens so quickly and the low part of the side doesn’t look breathable at all to me.
Thanks

Hi,

Also wondering if you ever heard back from the company as my little one is 7 weeks old and we are having the same issue! She seems to be ok with her face there but does keep waking up. Trying to tuck her in at the bottom of the cot more tightly but she is a wiggly worm and gets out.

Any help would be appreciated!
