Hi all!

Just curious really! I know there are guidelines out there, but I was wondering how you all actually dress your bubbas at night :)

I might as well go first!

16-18 degrees = Long vest, trousers, socks, 2.5 bag
18-20 degrees = long vest, 2.5 bag, probably trousers if it was closer to 17
20-22 degrees = long vest, 2.5 bag
22-24 degrees = long vest, 1 bag
24-26 degrees = short vest, 1 bag
26+ = short vest, 0.5 bag

It would be interesting to see what other babies like! :)

We only ever had one type of sleeping bag. When it was cold they went in PJs and a vest. When it was hot, just a vest and absolutely sweltering a thin blanket instead of the sleeping bag.

I live in a shady farmhouse in the Highlands so most of the time it's below 16 degrees even with heating on, so she's in long sleeved vest, sleepsuit and 3.5 tog sleeping bag from mothercare, but when it does get a bit warmer she's in the same but 2.5 tog and when it's even warmer she's in a short sleeve vest and sleepsuit. It has not got warm enough for anything less so far! Hmm but on holiday when she was 4 weeks last August and it was 26+ just a short vest

My DDs (13m) room doesn't fall below 20 so hers is something like...

20/21 - full babygrow and 2.5 bag
22 - full babygrow and 1.5 bag
23/24 - long sleeve vest and 1 bag
25/26 - long sleeve vest 0.5 bag
27 - short sleeve vest and 0.5 bag
28+ short sleeve vest only

This is a very rough guide, i go off how hot it feels that evening aso. I always have a 0.5, 1, 1.5 and 2.5 tog bag in her age range.

I dont like sleeping with my arms uncovered so I tend to cover hers too unless its hot & she isnt a sweaty baby so it tends to work for us.

I dont measure the temperature unless it seems extremely hot or cold, I just go by what it feels like and what I'm wearing. At this time of year it has been 1 tog sleeping bag with a vest - short or long sleeved depending on how warm it seems to be. When it was really hot at end of last week she had just the sleeping bag.
