Nap time when I’m not around

Help!
My 8, almost 9 month old, falls asleep on me for nap times and at bedtime. He won’t settle for my partner at all.
However, he is sometimes now looked after by his grandparents in preparation for me starting back at work and will only sleep for them in the car or in his pram.
What strategies can I use to help my strong-willed little one to fall asleep with someone else other than me??x

I don't understand - he does sleep for others, in the pram?

If he will nap in the car or pushchair then surely they just do that whenever he needs a nap with them, and your partner too? And I wouldn't worry too much about preparing for nursery, they will always work out a way to get a child to nap, and babies are more flexible than you think - he'll happily be rocked to sleep or similar there, but still need pushchair/feeding etc at home!
Both of mine would choose to feed to sleep if possible, or at least on me if not, but other people could take them for a walk/drive. My lovely MiL had to spend hours walking DD (then 2) around the house in her pushchair in the middle of the night when DH had to take me to A & E once!

My two only slept in pram or car. So much less restrictive. Or nursery where they used some kind of sorcery of patting that never worked for me. It will be fine.
