What are your toddlers wearing to sleep tonight?

Our house is like an oven. I've had the blinds closed and a fan in in my 20mo's room all day but it's still 28 degrees in there.

He's always slept with a sleeping bag, he asks to have it on before bed and wakes constantly if we don't use one. He moves around loads in his sleep so adding a blanket later probably won't work.

We need to keep his door closed and the blackout blinds up across the window as he'll be up all evening and wake at the crack of dawn if not. The room is too small and the fan too noisy to run it in there overnight.

Will he be OK in a nappy and a 0.5 bag?

I dont know about bags.. we arent using ours but then my LO doesnt mind either way. I have him in a vest and nappy and its 27 here. Do have the fan on but it's just chucking hot air around.

Peelspeelspeels · 24/06/2020 19:06

My 19 month old is wearing nappy, 0.5 tog bag and has a fan blowing just to the side of his cot and it’s 28C in his room too.

lee12345 · 24/06/2020 19:07

I'm wondering the same thing, my son always has to sleep in a sleeping bag, but the lowest tog we have is 1 tog. I have put him in that & a nappy. His room is around 27 degrees

farmertom · 24/06/2020 19:20

I've got 2.5 year old in just a nappy but he has covers on his bed. Baby is in just a nappy. Sorry that probably doesn't help x

Pyjamas and a woollen blanket. She insisted! I think I’ll sneak back in once she’s fully asleep and take the blanket off. It’s 28 degrees in there, goodness knows how she’s happy wrapped up like that.

BlueyBee · 24/06/2020 19:25

Nappy and a muslin/0.5 tog sleeping bag. It’s 28 degrees in our house. We’ve got the fan going in their room too.

Mine won’t ever sleep without a bag either!

BringMeThatHorizon · 24/06/2020 19:26

Thanks everyone. I'm going to go with the 0.5 and a nappy and try and leave the door open a crack with the fan pointing in and hope it doesn't wake him. Although last time I tried this he woke and noticed the door was open, freaked out and was up for 2 hours before we could get him down again! Fingers crossed!

Vest and nappy with fan on. I’ll turn fan off when I go to bed. He wanted to keep socks on!

BadAlice · 24/06/2020 19:27

Nappy only, fan on. His bedroom is in the loft, it’s sweltering up here.

MeadowHay · 24/06/2020 19:27

Its just under 24 degrees in our 2yr olds bedroom so we put her to bed in PJs which is a t shirt and shorts and in a 1 tog sleeping bag but about half unzipped down the side too. And window is quite open.

I will check on her when I go to bed and lock the window on the latch and possibly zip up her sleeping bag fully if the temp has dropped a bit.

doadeer · 24/06/2020 19:28

Yes nappy and 0.5 tog.

We usually feel him at 11ish and if he feels cool pop a think blanket over his arms

SqidgeBum · 24/06/2020 19:30

My 18 month old is in a vest with a light blanket and a fan on a timer. She will kick the blanket off pretty quickly but she insists on having a a covering of some sort.

MummyGoingItAlone · 24/06/2020 19:30

Just a nappy for my 2 year old. He has a quilt he is currently on top of and will cover himself if needed

CustardyCreams · 24/06/2020 19:31

Just a nappy. It’s roasting in my house.

HarrietM87 · 24/06/2020 19:34

It’s 27.5 in my 26 month old’s room and he’s in just a nappy with a fan. We have a big cellular blanket in his cot and may put that on him when I check on him later if it’s any cooler.

iwilltaketwoplease · 24/06/2020 19:42

Nappy.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 24/06/2020 19:44

Shorts and T-shirt pyjamas with a cellular blanket she will kick off over night. Her room isn’t that hot, and I’m aware the temp drops over night.

Ristar · 24/06/2020 19:47

Baby has a nappy, sleep suit and 1 tog sleeping bag. Toddler has short PJ's and a light duvet which she will probably kick off. It's 23 degrees here.

Mangofandangoo · 24/06/2020 19:52

3yo DD is wearing knickers and a thin vest. She has her snuggly blanket but she won't sleep under it

blankethog · 24/06/2020 19:53

A nappy, he has his duvet on his bed if he wants it but he doesn't use it anyway unless it's freezing

riotlady · 24/06/2020 19:58

Nappy and a 1 tog sleeping bag. It’s about 25 degrees here.

burritofan · 24/06/2020 20:06

14mo has nappy only and took for-fucking-ever to go to bed because the only thing that suppresses her bedtime hijinks is The Bag but we don't have any 0.5 tog and in any case I think her room is too hot for that, and not just hot but close.

BrandoraPaithwaite · 24/06/2020 20:26

Pull up type nappy and a baby quilt cover with no quilt inside. Luckily Dd spontaneously rejected the bags at the start of lockdown so is ok without a bag. Last year in the hot she was in 0.5 bag and a nappy.

BrandoraPaithwaite · 24/06/2020 20:27

PS. During the super hot summer of 2018 sometimes it was 34 degrees in DD's room at bedtime and she still went to bed fine.

kirinm · 24/06/2020 21:03

22 month old in a 1 tog sleeping bag with a nappy only - we don't have a lower tog and she'd climb out of the cot if she has no sleeping bag. We've got a massive fan and it's about 26 degrees in there now.
