2w old, almost no sleep today

My 2 week old daughter has been sleeping quite well until today. She woke up at 6am and since then for the last 12 hours she has barely slept. She has fed loads in short bursts and has been very fussy and has cried mostly between feeds. She has napped occasionally but in max 20 min chunks. I am starting to get quite worried as I feel she really needs to sleep. Any advice or reassurance will be appreciated!

Where does she normally sleep?

At this age, the norm would be 45mins to an hour wake time as most before she needs a sleep. My LO would have an hour awake and then sleep for 3 or so hours

However! Every baby is different. Yours may only need 20 mins to reset and then be happy to be awake for another hour

But from what you say, this doesn’t seem to be the case

What have you tried to get her to sleep?

Have you also checked her temp, normal nappies, no unusual cry, rash, etc?

@woollycat how is baby today?

If you're not already using a swaddle, it would be worth trying.

No advice but my 2 week old DS is having a day exactly like that today, having slept pretty much non stop yesterday. He usually feeds to sleep happily, but won't settle today. Currently my husband has him out for a walk in the sling, and I'm hoping he'll sleep.

Hope you are having a better day today!
