Sleeping sitting up

Hello! We've got a new one this time... 10 month old has now taken to sitting up, crawling around her cot or standing against the bars the second she wakes up. She is in a gro bag for all sleeps. Last night I woke in the middle of the night, checked the monitor and she was asleep sitting up. OH went into her room and laid her down and she settled back to sleep. This isnt the first time shes done this. Sometimes she does it at the beginning of naps as well.

Just wondering is this a phase? I'm guessing she hasnt realised she needs to lie herself down to go back to sleep?

I'd check if she can, physically, get herself from a standing up position to a sitting position to a lying down position. All without any help whatsoever and including when close to cot sides (So needing to shuffle away from sides to give herself room).

At bedtime and naptime, get into the habit of putting her into the cot standing up (in sleeping bag), tapping the mattress and telling her to lie down (on her own). Stop putting her in the cot already lying down.

I think lots go through this stage. They practice motor skills in their sleep, sometimes just by wriggling/twitching but my DMum says I used to do this and she’s find me standing up asleep against the side of my cot
