Stopping night feeds

My DD has 2-3 night feed everyday. I know she doesn't need them, she only drinks a little over 2 ounce for each feed. So she uses the bottle to settle herself to sleep. How did you guys drop the night dress with your baby. Also has anyone tries giving water instead of water at night and did it work?

Do you have a different way to settle her to sleep that doesn't involve feeding? Dummy for example?

I'd suggest totally separating sleeping and feeding. So don't give a bottle before bed or naps. Instead give it an hour or half an hour or before sleep time and do something to seperate feeding and sleeping.

For example feed baby downstairs, then upstairs and bath, brush teeth, ready for bed and then settle to sleep. Likewise completely seperate bottles and daytime naps - aim to feed baby when waking up, not when going to sleep.

To do this, you need an adequate way to get baby to sleep without feeding.

Then stop night feeds altogether. I wouldn't water down, just stop them and use alternate settling methods instead.
