Hi everyone my little one is 15 weeks, and HATE nap time. I usually keep her up an hour and a half depending on when I think she is getting sleepy. When I see I think she is ready I take her upstairs and as soon as we enter the room she must know what’s coming an cries, and cries for about ten mins until I calm her and she goes to sleep. I feel like an awful mother am I missing the window? I feel like she goes from fine to over tired soooo quickly! It’s strange because on a night time when I take her through she’s fine! And happily goes to sleep, but I do have her in a very good routine for bedtime, maybe I need a nap time routine too? Has anyone got any advice I just keep thinking how she is stressed when she’s crying and I shouldn’t let it get to that I want it to be a relaxing time! Also she is in the 4 month sleep regression so has been incredibly fussy not sure if that has something to do with it....any advice welcome!! Thank u xxx

It does sound like you might be slightly late in bringing her up for nap time. I'd suggest looking for earlier cues (my DS was great at hiding his sleepy cues, babbling over yawns and took a while to really pick up on them). And a shorter version of your nighttime routine could help ease her into knowing what's happening.

Does she sleep okay on you? Might be that you let her fall asleep on you and then transfer her (if you can) to her cot?

I dont think you are doing anything wrong. When my baby was that age he resisted naps all day but at night time went to bed no problem. When he was 5 months he started napping properly during the day, but it was because i got stricter and put him in the crib and walked away. He cried for about 10 mins before sucking his thumb to sleep. He carried on the crying for 2 days when I brought him up for the naps and after the first two days there was no more crying.
I dont really have any nap time routine with him, I just tell him to say bye to everyone then bring him up, into the sleeping bag and put his mobile on and walk away.
He cant seem to fall asleep when anyone else is in the room with him, even now at 11 months.

My little one is also 15 weeks old. I know that every baby is different but I read somewhere that babies at this age naturally have a dip in energy levels after 90 mins. It can help just to change their environment or do something different to keep them occupied. My baby's awake window is now close to 2 hours (roughly 1 hour and 50 minutes), so I'm wondering if perhaps your baby is undertired and not quite ready for sleep?

Like I said every baby is different so this may not work for you!
