Sleep training a restless baby

Hey all, first time poster!

We initially sleep trained my little one successfully at around 6.5 month in a sleepy head, in their own cot / room with the Ferber controlled crying method.

They've now outgrown it somewhat and so we tried removing it, which has proven disastrous! They're now 7.5 months and very active for someone their age; able to roll, and even stand propping up using the cot bars.

How on earth do we get them to settle when each time we walk away, they roll and get up! Confused

It was a while since you posted this, how are things now?

Not unusual for sleep to go rubbish at the developmental stage when baby can pull to standing. The answer basically just involves repetitively lying them back down.

Also worth practicing (during the day) the physical skill of going from standing to sitting to lying down - all unaided. Also, following instructions (like "Simon Says"). The use a being that you can teach the child to follow the instruction to "lie down" and baby understands what you mean and can physically do it without help.

My 10 month old has recently started doing this. She has showed signs of naturally being able to put herself to sleep so we have started sleep training. We have done a Mish mash of letting her cry for a bit, and the pick up put down method. Whenever I can see she is showing cues while sitting up in her cot, I'll go in and lie her down and say night night before walking back out. I'll continue to do this just whenever I feel I should, no set time. She is asleep within 20 mins of the morning nap. We have only started this 3 days ago. Hope it helps.
