Transitioning to proper cot

Hi all! How on earth have others managed to get their baby in a cot? Mine is 7 and a half months, I can (usually) get him to nap in the Next2me as I can lay down with him to settle him if he stirs when I put him down (he always does). But tried putting him in his proper cot for naps and he wakes up and sits up straight away! I cannot envisage a scenario where I put him down and he stays asleep 😂😂

When you put him in the cot are you laying him straight down flat on his back?

Try laying him on his side and/or lowering him at an angle feet first. One of the mums at the baby group I went to told me to try it when I said putting my ds in his cot seemed to stir him, she said it's something to do with the falling sensation, she likened it to the jolt awake you get if you fall in your dreams.

Hopefully it'll help you too.

Hi! I try straight onto his side to no avail! I wish I'd have known before buying a cot, I would have bought one with a side that slide down/comes off. Thanks for you reply
