Bubba goes to bed and doesn't sleep 🤔

Sooooo my daughter has just turned one. She's so good at going to bed, she'll say goodnight to daddy and go up the stairs with me and our routine is very consistent.
However for the last four nights she goes to bed but doesn't go to sleep? Before, she was going to bed at 7:30 and sleeping till 8:30 usually. Last night and the night before she didn't go to sleep until 8:30 and then woke up for three hours during the night and took forever to go back to sleep.
It could definitely be teething, she seem irritable and it's always hard to tell when she's teething because she never seems bothered during the day.
It could be something developmental, or I was thinking she needs less sleep during the day?
She currently has two hours in two separate naps during the day, sometimes she has more though.
Her last nap never goes past four.
Anyone had this?
She goes to bed but just lays there, talks to herself, has a drink, sings until eventually she goes to sleep but she doesn't cry for ages. I go in and give her a cuddle and then she lays down and starts talking to herself again.
Thank you!

Sorry, I'm just picturing Bubba Gump in his pyjamas Grin

If she is happy lying there chatting to herself I’d leave her be
She will nod off herself

You have been incredibly lucky to have a baby who has slept two hours in the day and 13 hours at night.

Put her to bed at 8.30 instead.

DS at one slept from 10.00pm to 5.50am. He did that from 5 weeks old. He dropped his two hour daytime sleep at 19 months.

DD slept from 8pm until 6ish with 3/4 wakes until she was 5. And never, ever in the day time beyond the age of about 15 months.

On the plus side they always got out of bed for school with no trouble and had lots of energy to do their homework.

They are 21 and 25 now! Not all children sleep reliably or need 12 to 15 hours a day.

If she isn't crying or upset it's fine that she has a little chat before bed. I'm sure she will drop to one nap soon. It sounds like she is a great sleeper!

Ps... Does she literally say goodnight dad?!

I'd put my money on the last nap being too late. But they are so going through so many changes at that age that regressing a bit sleeping wise is quite normal. My DD would do this (lying awake but not bothered) now and then and then she'd go back to normal Hmm

A year on and I've only just seen this!!

Oh to be able to look back at old threads and see that this wasn't a phase and still happily talks to herself for an hour, like she's giving herself a pep talk.

She did in fact used to say goodnight to daddy 🥰
