10 month old has learnt to stand in her cot, help!

My DD has not been a great self settler and we've been doing to stay and support sleep training for about a month and a half now. We got to a point where she was being put in the cot and would fall asleep within 10/15 mins with one of us sitting beside her. All of a sudden last week she decided she wanted to roll over and crawl around her cot and now its moved on to standing up. Last night she did this for over an hour and just wouldn't settle. I tried letting her stand up, stopping her standing up, or letting her stand up but immediately lying her back down. I don't know what the best thing to do is. She seems happy enough just standing there but I don't know if thats right. If you keep lying her down she can get quite upset and cry a lot. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. We really felt like we were getting somewhere with the settling and now I feel like its falling apart.

I'd leave her to it! Unless she's crying?

I wish I could help but we’re two months into this and I’ve fallen back into feeding to sleep to stop it 🤦🏻‍♀️ And it only works some of the time. I think the conventional wisdom is to make sure they know/teach them how to sit back down and leave them to it.

She’ll eventually knacker herself out, lie down and sleep.
Have you tried a sleeping bag?

Just leave her to it, she may tire herself out eventually. Good luck!

She'll only start crying when you leave the room so I might try sitting in the corner and let her do it.

I'm so tempted to go back to feeding to sleep but I feel even then she'll probably wake up immediately just so she can stand!

She's using a sleeping bag. I thought that would stop her but nope.

DS did this, we found it very hard not to laugh at him when we went in and he was so pleased with himself!

We did a lot of laying him back down and firmly patting with shushing, although I think eventually it just got less exciting for him to he stopped doing it as much.

My 15 month old still does this if he's not tired enough to sleep. If I leave him and he cries he'll usually fall asleep when I go back in for a cuddle. But if he doesn't cry, he can go for ages. I just leave him to it!

I’m hoping the excitement will wear off soon @larrythelizard 🙄
