How to drop a nap? 15 months old.

Our DD was a great sleeper between 4 and 9 months and then it all went wrong. She’s been through several sleep regressions and the cot ended up back in our room in January. She’s back to sleeping fairly well but won’t go to sleep in her cot and has to be settled to sleep on our bed first before being transferred asleep. She generally will sleep from 9.30pm until 6am now but DH and I really want to try and get her to bed earlier and in her own room.

She usually naps around 10am for 1-2 hours and then again in the afternoon from around 2-3pm for 1-1.5 hours. We reduced the length of the afternoon nap by waking her up but I think we need to try and drop it altogether in order to get her to sleep earlier. Does anyone have any advice? When she is ready for her nap she goes down very easily but it’s a different story on a night!

Shes still very small. She would need 2 naps a day. If shes up at 6 try put her down at 830am and again at 12. It will take a bit of tweaking

My LO, now 13 months, went down to 1 nap at 10 months. Her morning nap just got later as her awake time increased that there ended up not being enough time in the day for the afternoon nap too. She now does a 2 hour nap at 11am. Could you keep her going a bit longer in the morning & put her down for a later morning nap? It took a while for my LO to get used to it but it does work well for her (although we have had nap refusal the last few days, hopefully just a blip). She has finally been sleeping through the night consistently for about a month now too.

Like other posters I'd maybe try and bring the morning nap later and the afternoon nap earlier and try and combine them.

DS 10 months usually wakes at 7am and will go down for a nap about 12noon for 3 hours and we start bedtime around 7ish for an 8pm sleep time.

DD is 3, and since nursery stopped she's regressed back to 2 hour long naps at 11am and 3pm. It's nice as it means dh and I get some 1on1 time with her while ds is sleeping, but I'm worried about what this means for nursery return.

She used to wake between 7.30-8 and nap anywhere between 11.30 and 12.30 for a couple of hours which was better, napping around 4pm and then bedtime around 8pm which was better. I feel like now she’s up at 6.30am she’s still tired and probably hasn’t got her nighttime sleep out so naps earlier.

Push nap to lunch time, do it gradually making 11am lunch for a bit then bit later each day. So you join up the naps. I get 4 hours a day and 7pm bedtime till 8am wake up. It’s heaven on a sunny day and I have 4 hours to myself to read and sunbathe Grin
