3 naps at 9 months?

My little one is still having 3 naps a day at 9 1/2 months.

She has her first nap 2 hours after waking then second 2 1/2 hours later then 3rd 2 1/2 hours later. She will sleep for 1 hour for first 2 naps then 45 minutes for last. Goes to bed at 7.30/7.45 then mostly sleeps all night. Does this seem like too much sleep? I have been waking her after 1 hour for the first 2 naps.

Thought we would try a 2 nap schedule so I tried leaving her to sleep for first nap yesterday she slept 1 1/2 hours. I then kept her awake 3 hours till 2pm but she was all moody and crying by the time she was put down. Went straight to sleep but only slept 40 minutes which meant she couldn't make it until bedtime and ended up having a 20 minute power nap in the evening before bed at normal time. So maybe she's not ready to drop a nap yet and I should carry on as we were for the time being? Everything I've read suggests she should be on a solid 2 nap schedule by now?

Mine was on 2 naps by that stage but if she's sleeping through the night she must be tired enough so I'd probably just let her drop the nap naturally. Mine has always very suddenly dropped a nap and been fine from then on, when the day before he still really needed it and I couldnt imagine him going without it!

@Primrose89 interesting as im pretty sure when she dropped from 4-3 naps it happened suddenly and she was fine. I dont really remember though. Although she was on 4 naps much longer than other babies I've seen or read about.

My 8 month old is still on 3 naps and exactly the same timings as your little girl. 2 hours awake, down, then 2 and a half hour awake between other two naps. I don't see how I can drop any sort of nap at the moment because she seems to need it. Until she takes longer naps I can't see her dropping one
