Is anyone else's once brilliant sleeper now lost the ability to sleep? 2 year old DD has gone from going 7-7, to waking up at various intervals through the night. DH was up at 2 then 5 with her Confused.

Yes! 🙈 No proper advice here, just solidarity.

Before lockdown, our 2 (nearly 3) year old was sleeping 7-6:30 and having an hours nap at lunchtime. Since lockdown, bedtime started getting later and later, the messing around at bedtime increased tenfold and she started regularly waking at 1-2am ish ready to have full-on chats. Nightmare!

However, things improved slightly when we dropped the nap altogether. She’s a bit of a cranky mess every evening and we’ve yet to instigate a proper ‘quiet time’ routine at lunch, which I feel she will need going forward, but for now she’s going to bed at 7 again, falling asleep quickly and - most importantly! - back to sleeping through until half 6 in the morning. Well, more nights than not anyway!

Sending lots of good sleep vibes to you and your little one!

@milknapplayrepeat We seem to have the same child lol, she wakes up and launches into a full on conversation! I know it must be hard for her as she's getting nowhere near as much stimulation as she did before lockdown. I have tried dropping the nap and that makes little to no difference, we push bedtime back any further than 7:30 and she really struggles to get to sleepConfused. I'm just trying to remind myself this is temporary and I will one day get my amazing sleeper back!

Same - 26 months, fighting the nap (just won’t settle), won’t settle at night either and has started waking. When we tried dropping the nap still had the same problems but with a meltdown at bedtime as well!

Our 2 year old has turned into a teenager. Won't sleep until gone 10pm and then sleeps in until 10am. I am very much enjoying having a lie in! (But not looking forward to rectifying the situation post-lockdown..)

I’ve got similar problem with my much younger LO of 13 months. Suddenly started refusing her nap (which had been a lovely 2 hr break for mummy) & being a nightmare to settle at bedtime. I’m blaming the lockdown as i just don’t think she is being stimulated enough. On a plus she sleeps in until 8pm each day so at least i get a lie in Grin
