Changing a year olds sleeping habits

Morning All
We have wonderful 2 year old girl who's active, curious and affectionate but we urgently need advice on changing her lunch time nap and evening sleep pattern.

Currently my daughter requires her mother to be in the bed to nurse her to sleep, also constantly demanding body contact throughout. During the night sleeps, she is still waking searching for the breast every 1 or 2hrs every night. We refuse the cry it out methods as we both believe it to be wrong, but need advice.

I sleep in a separate and have done for the 2 years since our daughter has been born, but things need to change.

Ultimately, we would like our daughter to sleep on her own and for a longer period of time.

Any advice?

Richard
