Does this sound ok?

Trying to get 6 month DD to stop feeding to sleep, finding it all pretty upsetting (me a lot more than her, im a big softy plus I've got a bad case of the lockdown blues making me an anxious weepy mess).

She was previously fed to sleep every single time, naps and nighttime, and at bedtime we did bath, boob-to-sleep, cot. She's pretty good at night sleep, one or two feeds, no issue with that.

I didn't want to do too much change at once, so we're currently jiggling her to sleep in the carrier for naps, and doing bath, book, feed and then in the cot awake at night time. This is working, but she cries for around 10 minutes each evening before falling asleep.

I go in if she gets really upset, but no amount of shhhhing or patting works to get her to fall asleep, it seems the only way she can manage is to spend a bit of time having a grumble and a shout... i feel awful about this, but she is managing to get to sleep by herself, and it doesn't take long.

I always said i wouldnt leave her to cry, but this seems to work ok? Does it sound OK? Or should i be doing something else so she doesn't cry at all?

Is it full scale crying or like an uncomfortable whining cry while she adjusts herself?

The latter, she usually has a bit of a grumpy shout to start with, then whingeing/moaning as she falls asleep. If at any point she gets actually upset i go in, pick her up, settle her down and put her back to bed awake. Ive never had to do that more than once a night, the whole process has never taken more than 20 minutes.

I think you are okay.

@LouiseTrees thank you. I know it's daft, but confirmation from a complete stranger on the internet that what I'm doing is OK has made me feel 150% better.
