Advice on bath time!

My son is coming up to 5 months. We started a routine recently which involves bath time. Only problem is he goes absolutely crazy in the bath and I’m concerned he’s getting overstimulated, as he’s been waking a lot.
Any advice on whether we should cut this out? Or others have the same issue? X

We ditched night time baths as they just didn't work for us! We struggled to get the timing right, the baby kicked off, it was just faff to be honest. He's almost 5 months and We've been doing morning baths for a while now. He seems to really enjoy them and it's less stressful for us (I'm on mat leave and dh works late morning to early evening) Now before bed I just use Johnsons night time baby moisturising cream on him before putting him in pj's and doing a story etc. Just do what works for you 😀

Leave it. Like you say, baths are fun and exciting - I don’t understand how or why they have become this widespread ‘wind down’ and part of daily bedtime routines. As pp said you could have one in the morning instead - or just cut out the daily baths as they are not really necessary at that age. Save water. Save on baby bath products. Save the nightly faff.

DD is almost 5 months and we bath every other night. It works for her but although she splashes a bit, she doesn't get that excited Grin
