DS is almost 7 months. We moved to 2 naps around a month ago as when he was on 3, even though he only slept 40 mins at a time, we were struggling to get the last one in, and he was eternally grumpy / tired.
He generally has his last bottle 6pm, asleep 6.15pm, then will sleep until 6.30-7am, with a few wake ups for dummy reinstertion!
First nap is usually 9.30am, and he goes in his cot / sleeping bag, no issues, dummy in & then off to sleep within a few minutes.
Here's the issue - he wakes up after 35 minutes regardless. I am in the room from 30 minutes waiting for him to stir so I can get the dummy straight back in, in the hopes he stays asleep, but in the last month, this has happened maybe two or three times. The rest of the time it's anything from a 10-30 minute battle to get him to go back to sleep!
He point blank refuses to sleep for longer than 40 minutes for his afternoon nap, no matter whether it's in the cot, pram, on me, so he really needs the longer morning nap. He's not hungry as he goes down usually less than an hour after breakfast. I know he is still tired as he always wakes up crying / rubbing eyes etc, but just will not go back to sleep willingly!
Will he ever get this?? Oldest is now 2 & I don't remember being a prisoner in his room like this?!
