Since lockdown I think I can count on my fingers how many times my 4 year old has gone to sleep before 9pm... She's still awake now and all I want to do is go to bed and get some sleep myself (work in the morning)
I've tried letting her look at books and just going to sleep when she's ready - she's never ready.
I've tried sitting with her until she falls asleep - that worked for a while but now she just messes around while I'm there and I end up cross.
We've tried wearing her out in the daytime (which isn't as easy in lockdown!) but nothing seems to be making a difference.
Routine has always been the same and there are no screens for at least an hour before bed. She will quite happily do the whole bedtime routine and get ready for bed nicely but as soon as her story is finished she says 'I'm not tired' and it all begins.
She isn't naughty and the calling out /getting out of bed seems to be minimal but she is not getting enough sleep and her behaviour in the daytime is getting worse.
This isn't really a new thing, I know a lot had changed recently for her (and everyone) but we have had this problem before, she just seems to be getting later and later and later! Just wondered if anyone had any tips on what to try next...?!
Thanks!
