Has anyone here purchased the little ones sleep programme? If so did it work or was it a waste of money? Thankyou

Someone kindly gave me their programme/booklet for 3-6 months old. It has worked to some degree, but I didn’t find it life changing. My DDs naps are now much better, but her night sleep is sh!t
If your little one is in that age bracket, I can email it to you? It’s a big read! Obviously if you buy it, you get access to their closed FB page and can get further support.

I bought it when my daughter was about 6 months old. For me, it was transformative - it made a difference almost immediately. She went from only being able to nap in a pram for 30 minutes at a time, to taking long (two hour) naps in her cot. I was so sceptical, but it was easily the best £40 I've ever spent. Almost a year later and she still has that long nap at home. It changed my life at the time, but I was desperate!

One thing I will say though - it didn't do an awful lot for her night time sleep. That's probably because I was less good at following the settling guides at 3am, but also I do think that sleeping through the night is a development milestone like any other.

I purchased it about a week and a half ago for my almost 6 month old who would only take short naps on me or on the go and woke regularly at night often ending up in bed with me. We're now having more success with daytime naps in her cot and she probably self settles about 50% of the time, we have in the past been feeding to sleep so are working on removing that association. She's starting to do longer stretches at the start of the night and I have managed to reclaim evenings back which has been wonderful although she still wakes every 2-3 hours from approx 2300 onwards but I am finding it easier to settle her back in her own bed after a feed. I personally have found the structure and guidance of the plan useful and like having a schedule to follow.

I had birth to 12m program and found it great. We I mplemented the bits I thought would work for us for from about 3.5m.

  • We used the sleep/awake intervals but not their timing i.e. they say wake up at 6.30-7 - DD never got up till 8am so we shifted the timings back.
  • 6 minute pause before responding to her waking in the night (not if she was crying) helped her go from waking every 2 hrs to waking twice a night.
  • I still fed on demand rather than to their schedule.

DD slept through from 7m and still takes her 2+hr nap in the afternoon now at 15m. It was great.

I bought it when my son was about 6 months. It helped a bit, mostly because it suggested things like white noise. Its largely based on getting you child to have a 2 hour long nap from 12-2pm. I think what really helped most was just ds getting over the sleep regression that made me desperate enough to buy it, weaning him to the point where can have three good size meals a day and just the fact that he got older and better at staying asleep.

@LMac502 hi my lb is almost 6 months old. Two weeks time. Just not sure I want to spend 50 quid if it's not really worth it x

@Holiday16 I’ll email it to you. Not sure if you can send this privately via mumsnet? I’m a newbie!

Holiday16 · 26/04/2020 21:21

@LMac502 I am also a newbie and I have no idea. Can I put my email address up on here maybe? If I use spaces it might work?

@Holiday16 don’t put your email on this thread - send it privately to the poster who has kindly offered!

I found it very useful in terms of naps and self settling. Almost too useful as one of its themes is creating “sleep associations”, and now my little one will only sleep in her cot at home which pre-lockdown made going out for the day quite difficult!

LMac502 · 26/04/2020 21:49

@Holiday16 you should have an inbox from me, top right of page x

RubyDreamsOfRainbows · 26/04/2020 22:53

@RoosterPie I found this too! DD would go to sleep within 5min in her cot (which is great!!) but stopped sleeping in her pram so the old plan of 'walking nap to get to group/shop/coffee' stopped working and meant getting out could be rushed. But I lived with that for great sleep!! And it doesn't matter in lockdown ❤️

mistermagpie · 26/04/2020 23:03

@LMac502 could I be a massive cheek and ask you to please email it to me as well? My 5 month old is a shit sleeper and I have been looking into the little ones app but I'm also not sure I can afford to spend £50 for something that might not work! A thousand thank yous if you would be able to.

LMac502 · 27/04/2020 02:05

@mistermagpie of course, inbox me your email address and I’ll send it over x

I know this message is a year old now, but I was wondering if you found the program helped in the end? My little one is just over 4 months and seems to be having a sleep regression. We were lucky to have her sleeping from about 10:30pm with a few reassuring pats until 6am before, but that has gone now. Almost everything I read says they should have a bedtime between 6 and 7pm. Any help would be really appreciated. There is also so many conflicting ideas about dream feeds etc. So much conflicting info in general!

Any chance one of you would mind sending me a copy too if you think it was useful? Or any tips would be great.
Thank you. x

Hello! I know this is an old thread...but my LG is 11 months old and for about 3/4 weeks her sleep has got to pot! Mainly resisting naps and bedtime, which screws with all the timings of the day and results in an exhausted baby. My friend sent me the Little Ones programme and I wondered if anyone has had luck implementing it at a later age? Thank you!

Nedthewhippet · 07/07/2022 14:38

...just to add...she currently feeds to sleep most of the time and naps in her cot. She can sleep well, and can self settle in the night with her dummy...but she can have really short naps and wakes early, usually between 5-5.30am
