Routine after illness

My 7mo has recently recovered from chicken pox, which she had pretty bad after catching from her older sister. Her spots had all scabbed over by last weekend.
Since then she has screamed like a banshee every evening and will only settle on your shoulder. She falls asleep straight away but it's impossible to put her down without waking screaming until she gives up about 11pm and sleeps through. In the day she grumbles at nap time (never crying) but you can leave her and she'll go off. It's the bedtime screaming that is scary.
Prior to illness she had a nice little routine that generally worked.
She's always been a good sleeper, so I've not had to use any settling techniques, so don't know where to start or could she still be ill?
