Hi there!
My 6 month old sleeps on average for between 12-14 hours a night.... she doesn't nap much during the day (maybe one nap of 40 mins).. I know they say never wake a sleeping baby but I want to start getting her in to a more consistent nap routine as she gets really tired but just fights it... is it okay to start waking her earlier in the morning so shell sleep a bit more during the day?

What time does she go to bed and nap for 40 mins?

If I'm honest I'd probably not mess with 12-14 hours a night. She might naturally start sleeping less at night and more in the day as she becomes more physically active. But if you really want her to nap more in the day you could definitely try waking her earlier and at a consistent time each day, and putting her for naps at the same time each day.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with waking her a little earlier really. I know a few people who went back to work when their DCs were around 7 or 8 months, so not much older - they had to wake them up in the morning to get to work and nursery at a similar age. I would say don’t mess with it like PP, but if she’s cranky in the day then she probably would benefit from napping more - I don’t think mine would have comfortably stayed awake for more than 3 hours or so at that age.
