8 month old suddenly fighting naps

Hi my 8.5 month old has been in a pretty decent nap routine of 2 naps per day. However in the last week she has suddenly started taking 30-40 minutes to fall asleep when previously she drifted straight off. She isn't generally upset, she just babbles to herself and crawls around the cot. Nighttime sleep has generally stayed not too bad aside from one night this week which was all over the place.

She is clearly too young to drop a nap so should I push out awake windows? She usually stays awake for just under 3 hours for first nap then just over 3 hours for 2nd nap and bed. I have the Huckleberry app and have been following the suggested sleep times which up until the last week has been working really well! Sad

Any ideas?

This may well be something as simple as it being hotter and brighter during the day in the last week (assuming you're in uk).

I wouldn't consider pushing awake times past 3h at this age, it's too much. Could it be food/milk weaning related issues?

Is she cruising yet? DD2 did this when she was about to start walking
She was better almost instantly once she was whizzing about on two feet

There’s another regression at 8-10 months. Could be that. My NCT friends have slightly older babies than me and are in the midst of it.

Thanks all. In Ireland so similar weather to the UK. Could be the light, might invest in a better blackout blind.

She is cruising alright and pulling herself up on everything. She's very active.

I had heard about the 8 month regression. I think I will stick to our current routine for now and hope it resolves itself!
