11mo still catnapping

So we have got to 11 months without cracking naps. He sleeps for 30-40mins in the morning then does 30-40mins in the afternoon after which I can get him to sleep for a other 45 - 15 on me and 30 in cot. So we total about 2 hrs in naps.

It's only ever enough time to do washing up and gobble a couple of biscuits and I am feeling it today. He has slept through from 7pm to 5.30am the last few nights so can do it. Occasionally he will do a few days with two 1.5 hours naps which is bliss. Still feed to sleep.

Is it too late to fix this?

Think you need to be a bit easier on yourself and with your expectations.
Babies nap when they're tired, enjoy the time, try and nap yourself if you can and enjoy those baby snuggles - you'll
Miss them when they stop.
If you have a partner then they should be able to help you catch up with some tidying when they're home, and stop thinking you can have a settled baby, perfectly cooked meals and a spotless home- it doesn't happen despite what Instagram tries to show us!

My 10 month old has never been a good napper either. The most he has managed in his cot is two 55 minute naps and then went back to 30 min catnaps the next day. This morning he slept for 20 min Confused He sleeps great though when we nap together, normally for 1,5h. I'm tempted to start having daily naps with him just to make sure he naps enough during the day. Is this a bad idea and will it bite me in the bum later?

It wasn't until my little one turned 1 that the 2 hour naps started up until
Then it was 3 half hour naps a day sometimes just 2 .

He was always a terrible sleeper so would wake up around 5am then nap 11am til 1pm .

The only way you can really transition into this is just keeping him awake as much as you can during the morning til it's nap time and hopefully it will mean a nice long sleep

Mine never did more than an hour in the morning and an hour in the afternoon at that age. Transitioned to one 2h nap after lunch at 13 months which was bliss. Also didn't sleep through the night until 18 months so I think you're doing ok OP!

DS has just turned 1 and does 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour in the afternoon. He’s only ever napped for about 2-2.5 hours per day (since coming out of the newborn phase) Sleeps 11 - 12 hours at night usually, so his naps must work for him.
If he sleeps well at night he’s probably getting the day sleep that he needs.
They’re all different though which is always the issue!!

Mine is 7 months and hasn’t got the memo about naps.
Pre lockdown she slept in the car seat, now we do a single 1.5-2hr nap at 4pm! But co-sleeping so I achieve nothing. This does not feature in any baby book.....

It won’t last forever, I have decided to just go with it Wink

I have a 6 month old that naps between 2-3 hours a day (split into two 1-1.5hr naps usually) and sleeps a good 12-14 hours per night

I don't know if that's "right" and he also doesn't sleep in his cot of a day, only on his play mat or his bouncer.

I'm just winging it tbh, he was ebf for the first four months and didn't sleep more than 2 hours per night so honestly this is bliss and it works for him.

I tried everything to get my DD to nap longer than 30-40 mins. Read every book and tried every technique but nothing worked. Until she turned 11 months and just started getting longer and longer herself. I'm pretty confident that yours will do the same soon- hang in there xx
