9 month old still having night feed

So my 9 month old is in a very good routine. He naps at the same times every day and has 3 meals a day with 2 bottles (one morn one before bed) bath every night same time etc. Which is awesome! But sometimes he will still wake in the night for a bottle. I have noticed when I feed him something stodgy (usually mashed potatoes) for his tea he will sleep though 7-7. Last night for tea he had a roast dinner which I thought would be filling but he still woke at 2pm for a feed. He has teeth coming through which I know could also be the reason for waking, but he does settle after a bottle. I'm just wanting advice as to what else I could feed him for tea that would ensure he was full before bed or if anyone has any other tips to rid of night feeds. Feel like we're almost there but not quite. TIA x

Quite normal to need a night feed still at this age (and older). Not what you're going to want to hear but that is pretty amazingly good

Mine all still had at least one feed a night until over a year old, which I thought was fairly normal.
My 15 month old eats really well, I stopped feeding him at night a couple of months ago but he still wakes once a night just for a cuddle!

All my dc had a weetabix and a bottle for supper!! Ds 9 months slept 7-7.
At 5 years old his bed is his haven!!

I don't think they need a night feed at that age maybe just a habit. All babies are different though. Maybe an afternoon bottle wld help but cld also make them eat less it's trial and error. I'm pretty sure I was still doing an afternoon bottle at that age too as well as 3 meals. She was a chunk though lol.

Yeah, I'm no expert (as BF mine), but two bottles in 24 hours doesn't sound a lot at 9 months. Are you sure he/she is getting enough calories, could be waking as hungry?

My daughter is 15 months and still wakes for a feed sometimes 2! I've tried sleep training then often she disturbs my son so o give in to keep her quiet. I think yours is still young maybe wait until 12 months. But the night time feed does become a habit you kind of need to break when you're ready & willing! Good luck

Aptamil recommend 3 x 7oz bottles per 24 hours until 12 months.

DD is 21 months, she still has the odd night feed! 9 months is still so tiny, I don't think there's anything wrong with a night feed.

I also think 2 bottles at 9 months doesn't sound a lot. Although I don't prescribe to the 'food before 1 is just for fun' entirely, I do think milk should still be a major snack part of the diet.
