Hi all,
My DD is 14 weeks old and in the last 2 weeks or so we've been having some sleep issues. She used to do a good 4-4.5h at her first night sleep, then 3 then 2. She also used to have quite bad gas that was making her sleep very poorly at the end of her night sleep between 6-7am. But thankfully that has passed somehow.
About 2 weeks ago she started waking more often at night (3h then 2.5-2, then 2 then 1.5 till morning.).
She's breastfed and we had a nursing strike which was horrendous. I kept thinking it's very early teething as she had lots of symptoms (lots of saliva going, chewing hands instead of sucking, holding her bottom jaw, rubbing her cheeks and ears, less hungry than usual). Whatever it was it passed a bit and she's back on the boob so is generally calmer. But the night waking keep getting worse, almost every 2h with reaching every h nearer 7am.
We try to offer her daytime naps every 1.5-2h or so or when she shows tired signs. She gets about 4h sleep in the day tops.
We have a bedtime routine but have been unable to do it too much as she goes mental around 6-7pm and screams for no reason (clean nappy, fed, not too stimulated, give her cuddles. )
She usually falls asleep on the boob, then I put her in her sleep sack, turn on a snuzcloud white noise by which point she wakes a bit. I let her settle with minimal help- just being there, holding her hand if she needs it, picking her up for some swaying if she gets upset or is too jittery, but mostly try to let her do her own thing.
She used to be great at night, falling asleep without help, I would just be in the room (she sleeps in our bedroom but we out her to sleep before we go to bed).
She stopped being able to go down by herself, requires a lot of swaying and shushing before naps too.
Sorry for lots of details, thought it might help. Anyone have any ideas?
