I don't know what to do about this. My 10.5 month old hates sleeping.
She goes to bed at 8pm and this is usually okay, though she does cry quite a bit but is asleep within 10-20 minutes (either falls asleep breastfeeding or after a small fight in her cot). She then wakes up at midnight and 2-3am at which points she only really gets back to sleep properly if I breastfeed her. If I don't, she wakes up every 10 minutes.
She wakes up properly at 6:30am so is only getting 10.5 hours sleep. I've tried getting her to go to bed earlier than 8pm but she just won't.
Now, this was all okay when she used to nap twice a day (1 hour in the morning and 2 in the afternoon). But since last week she absolutely hates naps!
Yesterday she had a 1.5 hour nap in the morning and refused her afternoon nap entirely. By tea time she was so exhausted she refused dinner but still wouldn't go to sleep until 8pm....we tried everything!!
Today she refused to go for her morning nap (usually at 9:00) until 10am and slept 1 hour. We've been trying to get her down for her afternoon nap but she's screaming blue murder. If I leave her alone in her cot she just stands up and plays with the bars until she gets bored and starts screaming.
I'm exhausted from breastfeeding at night and going back to work next week (thanks to the lockdown I'll be working from home so can have a bit of a lie in thank God)
Will this ever get better??
