Non sleepers support

Hi everyone,

When DS was born we had a lovely series of thread going for those of us who had children that did not sleep.

It was a great support as we would message through the night and day.

I now have DD who also doesn't sleep so thought I would see if any one else would like to join me.

DD is 6months and is currently waking every hour. I'm struggling to not be a massive grump today

Hi motherofmonsters - I too had a non-sleeping firstborn and found a lot of solace and support on Mumsnet threads. It wasn’t the high-needs baby support threads you were on by any chance? DS1 is 8 now and has slept beautifully since he was 2.

But I now have 10-month-old DS2 who is worse than DS1 ever was. God help us!

Hi Gerald, I wasn't on the high needs groups just the non sleeping one. The threads were fantastic for support.
Sorry you've got another non sleeper to. I was really hoping DD would be different!

She hasn't slept very well today so not looking forward to tonight.

Hi I'd like to join this. DD has not taken a nap for a month!!!! I'm at breaking point.

Motherofmonsters · 12/04/2020 15:21

Hi @flower power, oh no that must be hard. How old is your DD

I've got DS 12 months old who hasn't slept for more than 2 hours straight since he was around 3 months old. As a newborn he was sleeping stretches of aound 4 hours at night but at 3 months something changed and he hasn't slept well since. Also only naps for about 30 minutes during the day so not much chance of some me time either.

Motherofmonsters · 12/04/2020 15:37

@sunny345H that sounds so much like DD she used to do reasonable stretched and then she had a cold... I never had any stretches back. I see most hours now.

I had a baby class today (on zoom) and everyone was saying how their babies have slept through since 2/3 months. It was so disheartening

Hi Motherofmonsters

I was on the original thread but have namechanged since then! Now expecting baby 2 in July so I'm joining now although very much hoping this one will like sleep better than DS 😂

Motherofmonsters · 12/04/2020 15:45

Were you @mrsbudd!! I've named changed to. It was a fantastic thread wasn't it. I've got everything crossed for you that this one will be a sleeper

Yes! I found it incredibly helpful especially during those long lonely nights feeding! Hoping this baby will sleep better but if not I know where to come for a chat 😂

Well DD is still wide awake, not a good sign for the night.

Hey 👐 my DD is a sleep hater, she’s 7 months and just doesn’t hugely like it... we’ve been awake since 430am. I went back to work last month and it’s ruining me!
Her nursery has just shut up shop so potentially a few months unpaid leave is on the horizon.

My DS slept well until he was 13/14 months old, he then was a Devil child at night until age 3 (he’s 4 now).

Honestly those that say their children sleep through are actually lying, I most of all hate the ones that are like.....”let them cry it out”. Oh yeah great idea so she wakes her brother... whose the can’t get back to sleep. Then I’ve two awake children, Great idea!

MrsBudd · 22/09/2020 11:26

How are you getting on OP? Hope you're no longer in need of a non sleepers thread?! I now have a 9 week DD so I'm often awake for night feed chatter 😂

OverTheRainbow88 · 22/09/2020 11:29

My 19 month old is still a non sleeper 😱😔😣🤣
