Hi everyone. I have a nearly 1 year old boy and he hardly sleeps! I try everything to put him to sleep early but he's soo stubborn and just cries and screams. He will got to bed around 1am and wake up at 7 then have a nap from 12-3. I'm 7 months pregnant so could really do with resting a bit more with him when he sleeps but I'm really struggling to do so.
I watch these perfect you tubers who's babies sleep from 8pm-6 in the morning, eat 3 meals a day, nap at the same time every day and seem to just have it all under control so am I doing something wrong???

from what you have said, no. Some dc are just awful sleepers. Would you consider trying the cry it out method? put him in his cot, play some white noise off of your phone, and let him self sooth until he falls asleep. its awful the first few nights but it does seem to help in the long run as they fall asleep much faster.

all the best x

I'm currently self isolating at my parents house with them so I'll have to try out the cry out method once I'm back home as he won't let them sleep otherwise! Thanks x

ah ok. for now, will he sleep in his pushchair? could you rock him to sleep in that, and then transfer him to his cot? I know it isn't ideal but its a temporary solution x

You poor thing, you must be exhausted. Ignore the youtubers, they made me feel rubbish too when my son wouldn’t nap without being held for months on end. All babies are different of course but I think a lot of babies at that age need a nap 2-3 hours after first waking up, so 9 or 10 ish. Then another nap from 1-3 ish. He could be overtired which is why he’s screaming not sleeping in the evening. Some babies need less sleep than others of course but trying two naps in a day may help.
