13 month old terrible sleeper

Hello

Looking for some advice from mums who have had similar experiences.

Basically my 13 month old is a shocking sleeper. From 3 weeks old to 7 months old he slept great and only got up once a night for a feed and went straight back to sleep. At 7 months old he got bronchiolitis and was admitted to hospital for a couple of days. Since then he has been terrible.

Just a few things worth noting - he does not have a dummy and WILL NOT take one. We tried until he was 3 months old then gave up. We’ve tried on occasions since then but he just does not like it.

He eats 3 meals a day and usually has milk in the afternoon, bedtime and during the night. He has a couple of snacks throughout the day. He naps morning and afternoon usually for 1 to 1.5 hours each nap.

Bedtime is usually 7.30, he used to wake up around 7am but it’s now 6am.

He LOVES his bottle and this is his comfort and the only thing that will settle him during the night and what puts him to sleep which I know is a problem.

He falls asleep in our bed, then usually transfers into his own cot and ends up in with us every night without fail.

His other comforter is a muslin.

Some questions I have are...

What is the best way to break the habit with the bottle?

What should I change in his daily routine?

Would it be worth introducing a pillow/duvet into his cot as this is what he sleeps with in our bed?

Thank you
