3 hour naps

My DD is 7 weeks and her day time sleep has completely changed in the past 2 days. She used to fall asleep on my breast after feeding and i could either put her down in crib or just hold her while she slept for anything up to 3 hours. She would usually sleep for an hour at a time in the morning and then She would always nap in the afternoon for 3 hours.

Last 2 days, she is only really sleeping if rocked off to sleep with dummy which i never had to do before. She is now only sleeping for 20 minutes at a time and thats it!! Has anyone else had this happen...i am so exhausted because of it as not getting a break at all. Wonder if there is a reason for it. She is crying when i try to rock her to sleep and i can see she is tired, yawning, blank staring etc.

Growth spurt/cluster feeding. A cliche but have you tried a sling?

AllThatJazz92 · 25/03/2020 17:02

Yes she actually doesn't like the sling at all

Maybe retry it. She maybe ok in it now. My DD often cries at first but it’s just sleep fighting and settles down after 5 mins.
