Omg please help 😭
6 month old LB. EBF. Dummy reliant. Has not slept properly for months and months, I'm so so tired I'm starting to resent him, even though nothing is his fault.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong. He knows the difference between night & day. Stays in his crib all night but wakes between 8-15 times a night, majority of the time I put the dummy in and he goes back off, but when he doesn't and he doesn'tneed feeding, i don't know how to get him back to sleep. He has 2/3 naps a day totalling 3 or so hours. And is being weaned onto solids.
100% reliant on the dummy to sleep. I have no idea how to comfort him. Our room isn't pitch black as i need to see him. He has Ewan the dream sheep going, but he doesn't seem to take much notice of it. When I try to stroke his face, or hold his hand, he just grabs it and starts pulling at it, so frustrating. If I was to pick him up he would think he was getting up, just don't know what to do, I need sleep, I can't go on.
When I feed him at night when I can't settle him, he falls to sleep and I don't dare wake him to put him down, or put the dummy in, but if I take him away earlier than he wants he just cries because he wants comfort from the boob, so I have to give him a dummy, but I don't want him to have it anymore 😭
Can anyone recommend sleep training methods for a very alert baby, that tries to play at any time. Don't want to do CIO. I seriously need help 😪
Thank you!
