2 week old reliant on dummy

Please help!!!

I gave my 2 week old daughter a dummy more or less straight away and now I really regret giving it to her. She does not settle without it. Now that shouldn’t be a problem. I have no issue with her having a dummy but my problem is, I give her dummy, she falls asleep and then the minute dummy falls out - she wakes up! I leave her for a bit to see if she goes back to sleep but nope! She’ll scream the house down until dummy is back in. Another problem is she drops dummy every 10 mins or so. So the whole night is literally me or her dad putting dummy back in.

Last night I was adamant she wasn’t having dummy. Didn’t give in. Instead I tried other techniques like cuddling her, rocking her, co sleeping. These all worked for short periods of time then she remembers she hasn’t got dummy and screams again. I’m exhausted! Haven’t slept at all. Even in the day, she doesn’t chill without it. I’m at the end of my tether and don’t know what to do. Please helpSad

Maybe try some different types of dummies, some may stay in better than others. I didn't use dummies but both mine had 'blankies' and they used to either put a corner in their mouth or twirl around their fingers. I remember a lot of walking around singing and rocking at two weeks. Honestly they need some sort of comfort so whatever you do will involve lack of sleep. Take it in turns so you each get some rest.
