2y5mo ready to drop nap?

My DS is 2.5 and has always been a bit of an early riser but for about a year has been sleeping from 7pm to at least 6-6:30am. Has a 1.5 - 2 hour nap at 12:30.
We potty trained him at 2.2 and for the past month he’s been in pants successfully at night. The problem is firstly that he seems to wake early maybe because he needs a wee. Of course he is not going back to sleep at 5:30. He’s also started taking at least half an hour to go to sleep in his cot at night. He is always very tired at nap time and happy to nap...but I’m wondering if it’s time to drop his nap?? To help him sleep longer at night. I’m just worried that he will still wake up early for a wee, however he never seems truly that desperate.
Sorry for the long and frankly boring post, but I have a 5 month old as well and I’m very tired and I don’t want the day to begin at 5:30 any more.
TIA
