10 month old wakes every 2 hours

Hey everyone,

I’m desperate for any help or words of wisdom.

My 10 month old son is waking every night without fail from around 1am. He’s up & ready for the day. Wide awake. The only way he goes back off is in my arms, but then I can’t sleep. As soon as he goes back in his cot he wakes. This has now been going on for approx 6 weeks.

Routine is:
8oz bottle at 5pm
We bath him around 6-6.30pm
He’s usually asleep by 8pm
Dream feed at 9.30-10pm
Down in his cot by 10.30-11pm

We can’t do controlled crying as his 4 year old sister is asleep next door.
Without fail he wakes each night between 1-2am & is awake for the day at 5am without fail. I’m absolutely exhausted & can’t take much more.

Any help appreciated

Thank you

Hello @cjward my dad is 11Months and tonight we are trying controlled crying as per the Ferber methods which another mumsnetter suggested to me. After I read your post I was wondering wether 5 pm is a little early for his bedtime feed you may find if you left his bottle until 6/6.30 that when he has this he may not need the dream feed as this will keep him comfortable until the morning . Myself I don’t mind being up at 5 am but only if you have had a decent block of sleep!
Back to my dd we also have 2 other children but unfortunately this is our last resort - we have tried lots of things and I’m also gradullay reliving the day breastfeeding I’m pretty sure he does it for comfort so out night wake ups start from 1 am then we are awake every 1/2 hours after that. It’s hard I know it’s really hard... I’m on baby no3 and he has definitely made it final. What with the 0 sleep policy . I always say to myself we did it when they were newborn so we can do it now.... we can get through this and it will pass. x
