Rolling

My little one is 4 months and one week old. Last week we found that she was waking in the night and would roll onto her side and suck her fingers to drift back off to sleep.

However now she keeps trying to roll onto her side and can’t stay there. She tips backwards and wakes herself up.
Then the only way to get her back to sleep is to feed her but she still struggles to resettle as she wakes when out back down and the whole issue of trying to get into her side starts again.

Is there anyway of keeping her on her side? Or do we need to just hang in there and hope she learns to stay on her side as she grows and learns?

It's an awkward point.. practice her rolling in the day, it won't last long. My DS slept on his front when he could roll, we used to turn him back but he always went back again and slept better for it, still does now at 3.

I feel for you havong been there when our DD was 4 or 5 months old. Ride it out if you can. Mine rolled from her back to her front and would wake herself up as she would be stuck, not having figured out how to roll back! As PP said, plenty of rolling practise in the day. We got over it, we have now moved to the 2am crawling practice.... Grin

Thanks both. Will try and ride it out. Hard as she has always been really tricky to settle. Hopefully she is a quick learner. Will do plenty of daytime practice.
