20 month old won't sleep unless cuddled

My 20 month lb won't go to sleep unless he's cuddling up to me. At the moment, the way I do it is by getting in the cot with him then creeping out. It's fine, not a huge problem and I don't mind doing it because he's usually asleep within 10-15 minutes. The only thing is I'm 10 weeks pregnant so don't think I can climb in and out of his cot for the next 7 months 😂

Any suggestions? Not leaving to cry. No judgement just can't do it.

Would love to hear if you are the same or if you have gentle suggestions. Thank you in advance x

Are you able to cuddle him to sleep in your bed then carry him or get your husband or partner to carry him to cot.

Or consider the move to a bed if your ready for that

Thanks so much for replying.

Can't go to our bed - he just thinks it's time to play and gets out.

I think maybe transferring him to a bed when I can't manage it anymore may be my only option. I'm nervous though as he just wants to play all the time 😂♥️

I think moving to a bed is a good idea and means that you can get the cot ready for the new baby. You might want to use something to stop him from falling out to start with. You can buy foam wedges for that purpose that go under the bottom bed sheet, or improvise with a rolled up towel or pool noodle.

Thank you and thank you for not just saying that I need to leave him.

Any suggestions on how to stop him getting out and running around?

Is it just a case of a couple of weeks of being consistent and keep putting him back?

Mine never really got up and ran around. I fed / cuddled them to sleep, and when they woke up in the night they seemed to forget they could get out by themselves and cried until I went to them.
