14 month gone to one nap won't settle bedtime

She has an hour nap in the afternoon around 12.
She goes to bed at 7pm and fights it until I bring her back down and then gets overtired and it takes up to 2 hours to get her to sleep. What can I do? She will only nap once during the day.

What time is she up in the morning? Is that her waking naturally?

I don’t have any suggestions, but that’s the only bit of info I can see that’s missing.

Have you tried putting her to bed earlier? Could she be overtired?

7am on the dot every morning. Yes tried 6pm but no joy. Tried putting for naps later like 4 or 5 but she just refuses. Xx

She's okay when she's downstairs it's only when I put her to bed she starts crying to come back down.

Why only an hour at lunch? Does she wake up after the hour or do you wake her? Does she have lunch before or after nap?

At that age I gave DD lunch about 11.45ish, then nap was 12.30-14.30, bedtime at 7pm no problems.

I'd stop taking her back downstairs.
I'd say she needs more than 1 hour nap in the day time but get she might have other ideas.

You don't have to make her CIO alone but in your shoes I'd keep firm rules around once in bed that is it. Stay in bedroom- obviously for exceptions like illness.
I'd sit in the dark with her and listen to calming music and hold her. Go back downstairs = too much stimulation and sets precedent for when she's in a bed and does what to go to bed- she'll come downstairs because that's what you do.

She will only have an hour she won't nap any longer than that

Have you tried putting her to bed later? Maybe she isnt tired. My daughter still has one nap and rarely goes to bed before 9pm.
