How do you survive the 4mo sleep regression?

I've read that LO's form their sleep pattern for life during the 4mo sleep regression. How do I survive it while encouraging my baby into a good sleep routine? She is waking every 2-3 hours during the night and even then her sleep is unsettled. Me and DH are exhausted and don't know what to do! Please can you share any positive experiences and/or advice to help us to cope and see light at the end of this sleepless tunnel?!

It's absolute tosh that their sleep pattern is set then.

It must be or I wouldn't be sat downstairs on the sofa while my 2y7moDS has been in bed asleep for an hour, having gone to bed in 10 minutes with me sat in the chair not on the bed.

We survived by splitting the night to be honest- I went to bed straight after dinner for quite a long time, with DH just bringing DS to me for feeds til he went to bed, giving me 3 or 4 hours decent sleep. Then he took DS down in the morning while he had breakfast etc and returned him to me about when he was ready for a nap and we BF and snoozed together.
