Settling baby after 3am feed

My 9week old son is currently having a feed between 6-8 and then going 4 hours before the next but is barely settling in his Moses basket (which he has almost grown out of) at all, he is fast asleep until 3am feed, after this he's awake and won't settle. I'm ending up on the sofa with him and we get a small nap on there but I don't want to make this a habit.
Any advice? He also has colic and possible reflux 😕 which is hard enough to deal with without being exhausted from not sleeping.

Firstly, I feel your pain. Secondly, please don't sleep on the sofa with your baby, it's so dangerous. If you're on the sofa, you must stay awake. You might consider safe bed-sharing - look up the lullaby trust and safe sleep 7.

It could be that your baby hasn't quite sorted out night and day yet so thinks 3am is a perfectly reasonable time to be awake. This should get better as he gets older - just keep things bright in the daytime with normal daytime noises and dark/quiet at night.

If the colic/reflux is disturbing him I'm guessing you've tried holding him upright for a while after feeding, and also Infacol (although this did nothing for us apart from that DD loved the taste Grin)?

I second the advice above no sleeping on the sofa at all. If you can't bed share safely then create a safe space on the living room floor to snuggle.
