Nearly 3, eczema and sleep

Hi there, I was wondering if you can offer any advice for this situation we are in.

My daughter will be 3 in April and has never been great at sleeping. Shes always had eczema and wakes up itching in the night and cant get back to sleep without a lot of petting and stroking to relieve the itchiness.

We cut dairy out her diet some months ago and her skin is greatly improved but the night time waking is really taking its toll still. Her skin isn't particularly flared up but once she gets upset she starts to itch and cant stop on her own. She doesn't really itch that much during the day unless something sets it off badly.

Shes fine with her dad in the night but if I go in to soothe her for some reason she goes completely mental and we have 30 mins of absolute hysterics where she itches and screams and we end up awake for an hour several times per night.

This is really taking its toll on all of us as you can imagine, so I am really just looking for any kind of help or advice. Do we focus on sleep training in the hope that she can soothe herself back to sleep? Or is there more we can be doing for her skin besides emollient/steroids/cerave/eucerin/coconut oil etc etc

Thanks

Have you had her tested for other allergies?

Could she be getting warm at night? When ds is too warm and he sweats it causes him to scratch
