Baby not slept well at night - what to do with naps

DS (1) is going through the worst sleep regression (combination of just learning to walk and teething I think)

He's slept terribly last night and hasn't slept well since Wednesday.

My question is, when this happens what do you do about naps? Do you still try to stick to a routine or let them catch up on any sleep they need?

I've been letting him sleep as he needs but not sure if he's just having too much day sleep now!

I always tried to stick to a nap routine even after a bad night, maybe let them have a little longer than usual but not much. They will just get use to more sleep in the day and it will affect the night times. Try and keep them busy after nap time and maybe put to bed a little it earlier than usual

I would go for earlier and/or longer daytime naps after a bad night. Over tiredness helps no one and only hinders good quality sleep.

The only 'rule' I would adhere to is awake time before bedtime tonight. Try to keep that what it usually is. So don't allow a late afternoon nap to affect bedtime.
