Transitioning from Moses to cot

My 5.5 month old is getting too big for her Moses. The problem is she loves her Moses and struggles to sleep well in her cot.
She goes down ok but wakes every couple of hours.
I'm pretty sure it's because she doesn't feel as snug and cosy in her cot. I feel she also likes the rocking of the Moses.
The thing is, she sleeps well in her cot during the day and wakes up happy, it's just the nights we have issues with.
We have been putting her down in her cot every night for the past 2 weeks. By about 2am we give up and put her back in her Moses to get some sleep.
I don't think she has more than a couple of weeks left in her Moses before she is too big.
Any tips at all please?

I think you're going to have to bite the bullet and have a few nights trying to settle her.

Have you tried putting the Moses basket in the cot and doing a few nights like that?

I know that it wouldn't have the rocking motion, but do you think that putting her in her Moses basket, and then putting them in the cot, could help at all? Please MNers if you think that could be dangerous in any way, just tell OP not to do it.

I don't know how that could be dangerous. Best bit of advice my mother gave me when ds was 5 days old "put the Moses basket in the cot so he's used to the bars".

The NHS development nursery nurses in my area recommend you put the the Moses basket in the cot to start with

The first time DD slept in the cot I thought it wasn’t going to work as she kept waking up. Turned out she was cold! Cots are draftier than the Moses baskets. I’d just be using a small thin cellular blanket in the Moses but had to start using a 2.5 tog grobag for the cot.

Thanks everyone, I don't think putting the Moses into the cot would help. It has very high sides and it is already next to the cot, but I will try.
I honestly think it's because she is so snug in it. I think I am just going to have to just prepare myself for some sleepless nights.

You could try using something like a sleepyhead although they are very expensive and overnight sleeping in them is controversial. It would make her feel more snug.

Let me know how you get on, I'm moving my 5 month old to a cot next week as shes too big for the moses basket. She loves her basket but I think she'll like being able to spread out too
