10 Month old sleep problems

I have a 10 month old and he only recently started to sleep well. We co-sleep, just baby and I, as my husband sleeps in the spare bedroom (not ideal, I know!). However, in the last 3 weeks baby boy started to climb on me in the middle of the night, he wakes up so often, I am exhausted. He would put his head on my head or tummy or trying to make himself "comfortable" on ME! As I am working full-time, I just can't cope with this. I thought... he is finally sleeping better only to have this now. He was behaving like this when he had a cold or when he was sick. But now he is absolutely fine, he is healthy and I just can't think what is the reason why he is doing this. He is very restless and moves around in bed a lot!

Sounds like he's ready to be in his own bed to me.

Own bed and learn to self settle. I'm not sure he will start sleeping more still - I think babies are just wriggly. But it'll be hard if he is used to being with you!

I presume your husband also parents your joint child?

So get your husband back in your shared bed.

Get your husband to put the baby down at night in his cot. Cot can still be in your room. If baby cries during the night get your husband to put him back for the first week.

Babies often sleep better if their dad's put them to bed. Don't be surprised if he crawls around his cot during the night.

We tried this and it was backed up by the healthcare professions in my family and friendship group who work with children including babies.
