I have a 10 week old who is not a great sleeper. Not terrible and will reliably sleep for four hours at the start of the night (goes down between 9 and 10) but then the rest of the night can be erratic and I always wake up at least once or twice (sometimes five or six times) between 10 and 6.

Although I'm knackered, this doesn't really bother me as I sort of thought it was par for the course with a 10 week old but I hear so many people (friends, NCT girls etc) saying their babies sleep considerably better than my baby and I worry that I am missing something or that she is never going to get into a good sleep pattern.

In terms of routine, I get her up every day at 7 and put her down for at least 4 naps (between 45 mins and 2 hours but normally nearer 45 mins) in the day. Then she is awake from about 6.15 to whenever she goes to sleep.

Will it get better? Is this anyone else's experience? I can't rationalise anything because I'm exhausted. I would just love to hear other people's experiences and advice. Thank you.

Totally fine, totally normal. Sleep isn't linear anyway, so their good sleepers might change. DS woke once at 10 weeks. At 10 months he usually wakes around 6 times! You will get there and you can address issues as an when you need to.

Sounds totally normal to me, just wait until all those so called good sleepers hit the sleep regression at 4 months. They’ll soon stop the smug gloating 😀

Don't believe everyone... Competitive parenting starts early!
My first slept terribly... Didn't need much sleep alway awake for the day ridiculous early.. I thought I was doing something wrong... Mum helped... No better
Same at baby massage... Wouldn't relax.. . Had to ask on last week to change order so I could actually see what happened at end...
Youngest slept a lot better.. Didn't do anything different 😁. He also would lie there happily for whole massage class...

Now at school I realise it's just their personality...nothing to do with if I was a rubbish mother or not (sometimes felt like it).... My eldest never sits still and is easily bored... Youngest very laid back, amuses himself and just lies in bed sometimes...

Yes it does get better but slowly in many cases. I found around the 3 month mark the most exhausting time...you have my sympathy... I felt like I had no fuel left and was running on fumes! Only other time felt like that was when sick or teething
Good luck!

Sounds normal to me. Much too small for much of a routine imo. How are you feeding? If you are breastfeeding that will make a difference as well as it is digested quicker so they will wake more.
