7 month nap

My baby is 7 months old now and since he moved out of the newborn stage he’s always taken 2 or 3 30 minute naps a day. There’s been about two days where he had the odd 2 hour nap and I thought I cracked it but nope 😞 anyone been through similar & have any tips on how to change this , or will he out grow it?!

In a similar boat. How is night time sleep? If ok, I wouldn't worry too much, but I know how frustrating It is

Things I've found helpful are:
White noise (loud!)
A slightly cooler temperature than night
We feed about 30 mins before nap time
Aim to go down for a nap no more than 2 hours after wake up
And a comforter!

Thanks, goes through phases of sort of sleeping through sleeps 8-6 then in bed with me till 8 feeding - wonder if I should cut this out I just thought he needed 12 hours especially as he’s not napping much in the day. How does you baby sleep at night ?

But while teething bad he will only sleep with me and be fed to sleep and breastfeed most of the night which is tough!

I’ve did manage to put him down awake for a while but that changed so I put him in the pram or rock him now.

He loves his comforter though but I’m unsure wether safe to leave it in the cot over night ? Do you leave your babies in there is it ok now there older ? X

That's a great night at least :) My daughter sleeps 6.30pm-3am then 4am-7am roughly. She keeps her comforter for naps. I tend to take it away at night once she's asleep but for that second stint it's not always possible as I sometimes go back to bed before she's fully settled. I was worried but spoke to our health visitor and she was very pro leaving it with her, so perhaps you could try that too. We use a small muslin square which is breathable.

I found that very often my baby would wake up after 30 minutes sleep and when I read into it, discovered that this is common as a sleep cycle ends and baby doesn’t yet know how to get back to sleep even when still tired. I always tried to help baby back to sleep...went in, didn’t speak, shushed and gave dummy (if you use). Works 95% of the time. I’ve found the only time baby hasn’t settled is when something is bothering him i.e wind, dirtied nappy, teething pains (at a guess). Sometimes it has taken me minutes to help him back to sleep, on the odd occasion 20-30 mins but he’s always shown signs of tiredness and trying to fall back to sleep. I now often only need to go and replace dummy and shush then leave the room and he is falling asleep again himself. Worth a try and a bit of perseverance in my experience. I’ve also found when he nails better during the day he sleeps better at night.
