I just wondered what anyone else's 11 month olds were up to. What time they were waking, having naps (and for how long), going to bed etc? Is anyone down to 1 nap yet?

My DD is 9 mo, so a bit younger than your DC. However, we have just moved down to one nap a day

She goes down at 11am for anything from 1 hour to 2 hours. No more naps then until bed at 6.45pm. She still wakes up before 6.30am!!!!

My little monster is down to one nap a day, and has been for the last 2 months pretty much(he's 11 months as well). He's always been a pretty good sleeper (until recently). But he tends to go down at 7.30pm, wakes at around 7am (give or take). He then goes down for a nap about 1pm for an hour. If he's had a poor nights sleep the night before, he tends to go for his nap early (usually around 10am) but that will be his lot for the day.
He's started waking at night in the last 2 weeks - about 5 times a night - and it's driving me mad !! Still only the hour during the day. I've tried all the usual, and I'm pretty sure he's not teething - so I think it may be night terrors since he's mainly crying in his sleep. Does anyone have any other ideas? Or even ideas on how to deal with night terrors?

hi again . my ds wakes between 6:30/7:30am naps 3hrs later for 1.5hrs, naps again 3 hrs later for 1 hr and is in bed at 8pm. He resists naps if they are in his cot (which varies day to day depending on what we are doing) adn I do panic that maybe he only needs one nap per day. Thing is, once he is asleep he naps quite happily for 1.5hrs and 1 hr respectively. I do loathe the crying though . But this is usually for around 5 - 10 mins max so I guess this is OK

I think at 11M that DD1 and DD2 were doing 30 mins nap at 9am and 2 hours from about noon with bedtime 7-7

my ds is almost 11 months. He goes to bed between 7.15 and 7.45pm (depending on how dd's bedtime routine is going!), wakes up sometime around 7am (sometimes a bit earlier).

He has a nap around 9.30/10am - sometimes in his cot, sometimes in the buggy if we are out - normally around 1 hour. He still has an afternoon nap around 1 or 2pm -(when he starts to get a bit fussy) and that lasts for 1 or maybe even 2 hours. He has occasionally refused to nap in the afternoon but has been a bit exhausted by bedtime, so probably still needs the 2 naps.

so how do you know when they are ready to drop one nap?

fizzbuzz · 30/08/2007 09:23

Hi Cruise! I wish I knew. DD would like to nap at 11.00, but then it is a long time until bedtime.

Try to keep her up until 12.00, then she naps until about3

inkstigmata · 30/08/2007 10:16

@ cruisemum1: DD1 and DD2 started taking a while to drop off at 9am (chatting or singing) and then woke after 20 mins. That's about when I cut it out.

cruisemum1 · 30/08/2007 10:49

so confusing ain't it .

cruisemum1 · 30/08/2007 10:49

fizzbuzz - 12 - 3 . What bliss

fizzbuzz · 30/08/2007 11:19

Not always though......
